A Big Wheel RV Park....Totaling Relaxed...

Yep, we 3 are relaxed....We really needed this....lol

This park is just perfect for chilling....Nice sites...a little close, but livable....folks are friendly, but don't bug ya'.....and the resident neighbors are cute, but sure do wake us up early....

Have put away the "winter" craft project stuff, crocheting.  Making afghans get a little warm for me to do for the spring and summer, so I've got a new counted cross-stitch project going...couldn't find any cloth locally for it , so am using a very tiny cloth that I had to do it on....Thank goodness for my magnifying glass...lol....

Tomorrow we'll make a Walmart run for some  things I need for house cleaning and get my hair trimmed.....Am going to have them cut my current "do" pretty short since I know it will be awhile before I can get it done again....Ernie doesn't have to worry about haircuts anymore....lol...

Speaking of Ernie, he's been planning and mapping our trip and here, since we have wifi, he's been printing out directions, etc....He wants to go west so bad this summer, but is worried about the gas prices....I told him, we are still going, we'll just have to adjust how long and how far we drive in a month's time...BUT WE ARE GOING!!!!

We move to Mayport Naval Station on Sunday for 2 weeks....It's been 6 years since we last visited there.....We're looking forward to it....as this will be our "Beach Fix" for awhile....

Stay tuned....lol

Crooked River State Park, GA

It's really a nice State Park!!  Lot's of room.....Lot's of tall pines....Lot's of sand Knats....lol...but it's been a nice relaxing week.....

Met our friends from the WomenRV forum, Irmi and Steve here....They are on their way back to MD and we are enjoying some  "down time" before we head back to PA.....We've visited.....ate lots of food...had lots of laughs...and did some touring of St. Mary's, GA...

Also had a visit from another forum friend, Vickie, who stopped by on Monday to chat.  This is 1st time we have met, but again, we know one another from the forum, so it was like "Old Home Week"...
.
Some photos from our trip to St. Mary's..

And, of course, the food...lol

Oh, not to be left out....Spinner had a "Doggie Get Together", too, with his friend, Teddy....
Tomorrow, we're moving down the road just a little bit to a cozy full hookup RV Park called "A Big Wheel" for 9 days.....We had wanted to visit King's Bay Sub Base, but the Navy is having a exercise which involves a lock down of the whole base, which means no one allowed on or off for 4 days....so we'll hang out, do a little fishing in the bass pond, clean and tidy up the camper, and ready ourselves for the next stop....Mayport Naval Base, FL for 2 weeks...

Okay, that's it for now.....

Awards Morning with MWR, Ft. Stewart, GA

We heard rumors about one....But what a surprise to receive a phone call from Cathy last week that our presence was requested to attend an Awards Ceremony.  It was scheduled for 8AM today.....Since we are still in the area (about 40 miles), we said we'd be there....So it was up early and off to Club Stewart there we went... Arriving in time for coffee and donuts...(the usual fair at these things....some things haven't changed with the Army....lol) and found us a seat.

1st, Ernie was called up to receive an award for his efforts in keeping the Christmas lights on every night from the weekend of the Christmas Hayride thru Christmas Night, so that the soldiers and families could drive out to view and enjoy them and the displays.

.Then we were both called up to receive a Certificate of Appreciation from MWR and the Installation Command for our service as Camp Hosts for the last 5 years. Boy, guess we did a good job...

So we wanted to share with our friend and campground manager, Cathy, so we drove over to the campground and had our photo taken with her....

It's really nice that we are recognized for the job we did.  And we appreciated it.....Our time as camp hosts was fun and enjoyable, but it's time for new adventures....

But I did want to share....

Photos Of Boats and Salt Marshes

Andy and Gwen took us to the pier in Darien on Sunday.  Andy's been helping his brother get his shrimp boat ready for the season in April.  While there I took some photos of the "Fleet".

And here's some photos I took here looking out over the salt marshes.

Enjoy!....and let me know what cha' think...

St. Simons Island and Oysters for lunch...

Got up early this morning to watch the sun rise....but it was cloudy....so walked the dog instead...lol..After paying the monthly bills online and tidying up the house on wheels, we took off for a little touring, shopping, and sightseeing of St. Simons Island, GA.  A beautiful place with lots to see and lots of shopping & eating...

.We stopped for lunch at Catch 228 Oyster Bar & Grill for the oysters (raw and baked0 and a glass of wine.  Well, I had wine Ernie/Dock had his usual.....

Then we came back to the Colsons and just chilled for the afternoon....Having supper soon and maybe a adult beverage with Andy & Gwen...It is Friday, ya' know, and soon will be 5 o'clock here...

And So The Adventure Begins....

This morning we lovingly waved good-bye to our winter home for the last 5 years...Holbrook Pond Campground, Ft. Stewart, GA.  We were the Camp Hosts during that time.  We really enjoyed our tenure there, but now it's time to be just "full-timers" in our 5th wheel and see more of this great country of ours....

So we packed up, Ernie/Dock, Spinner, and I, and headed south along US17....a whole 40 miles to stay at the Colson's Backyard Campground, Darien, GA....lol....Andy, Gwen, Noah, and Diamond, the puppy, are great friends of ours and we were invited to come park in the backyard to relax, enjoy the Tiki Hut, fish, crab, and just have a good time....Hence, here we are....
Our view out the door....

Okay, we're here for 2 weeks....
More later...
